Personal connection: I am very different in how I handle a new experience like going to a different country. I try to adapt into their culture when I am there. That is only on trips though, not moving to a different country.

Significance: I really am happy that Elli got her high school diploma. It is the first of many steps at a first class education. The book ends here, but I hope she goes onto college.
Personal connection: I was also very happy when I found out that I was going to graduate elementary school. It is not the same as I high school diploma, but I was very happy at the time.
