Scout-Extra Credit Post-Ch. 29-31

We got home from the Halloween pageant battered and bruised after being jumped. Mr. Heck Tate came by and told Atticus that Bob Ewell was dead. He told me to recount the nights events to him, and to not skip a beat. So I started with Jem and I walking to the pageant. I told the sheriff about how Cecil Jacobs had scared us real bad earlier in the night. Then we went to the pageant and I told him about falling asleep backstage and coming out for my part late. I told them how I was real embarrassed and didn’t want people to see me. I told them about me tellin Jem not to take off my costume and Also tellin him that I wanted to leave after the place was cleaned out. We left and we were walkin and I remembered that I had left my shoes at the school. Then I told them about bein jumped and my throat had started hurtin from talkin’ so much. Mr. Heck Tate said that my Ham costume probably saved my life.
I then saw the savior standing in a corner. I saw him and then said hey, Boo. Then Atticus introduced him as Mr. Arthur Radley. We all left Jem’s room and went out to the front porch. I said, here I’ll show you to the porch Mr. Arthur, since you don’t know your way around that well. Once we got out on the porch Atticus started making a case in his mind for Jem using self defense when Mr. Heck Tate said, “you can’t possibly think Jem did this. No Bob Ewell fell on his knife and killed himself. After that I really didn’t listen that much. Then after everyone else went back inside Mr. Arthur asked me if I could walk him home and that’s just what I did.
